I like to take advantage of the eight footswitches in the Tone Shifter Mega to control Ipad apps like Positive Grid's Jamup Pro.

When using the sound card capabilities in the Tone Shifter you can also access the footswitches to control functions inside your DAW like recording, rewinding, etc.
