The BEST Power Supply from EVGA - SuperNOVA 1600 T2
As I had some unfortunate luck with the SuperNova 2000W G+ power supply, I discussed and agreed that I would get the Titanium Rated 1600 T2 as replacement. The 1600 T2 is one of the older power supplies EVGA is still selling on the market, and it is based on the same hardware design as the famous Leadex series of power supplies from Super Flower.
EVGA, just like many other vendors doesn't actually design everything from the ground up with their power supplies, they use reference design from other power supply manufacturers just like many other large companies. Currently, EVGA sells three different designs on the market, the older G2/T2/P2 models are generally Super Flower design based units, the newer G6/P6 and I think also the newest G7/P7 are Seasonic based units, and the + units like P+, G+ are FSP design based units. FSP has made power supply units for both EVGA and Cooler Master anyways at least.
You can easily note the Super Flower designs from their size, they are by far the largest units based on physical dimensions. Usually with power supplies larger is better. When the power supply is very large aka long/deep, they can put a lot more hardware inside the unit and it will run cooler and it is easier to make the unit more long-lasting. The only minus part is that it doesn't fit every possible PC chassis. The Seasonic and FSP based units are visibly smaller, for example the 2000W G+ is 2cm shorter than the 1600 T2.
The 1600 T2 power supply is promised a whopping 10 year warranty, it has almost 93% efficiency even at full 1600W output load, and nearly 95% efficiency at more normal daily type loads at 500-800W power consumption. That is probably one of the best results I have ever seen on any power supply unit. Of course that was with 220-240v mains power, as 230V can reach much higher efficiency than the American/Japanese 110-120V standard.
With such high efficiency levels, the 1600 T2 could even be a very realistic daily power supply as that 500-800W represents a very realistic daily use load with high-end GPU and overclocked CPU/Memory. And if you invest on a good power supply model and it lasts, you don't have to upgrade it for 10-15 years as long as there are no major standard updates which are very rare among power supplies.
