Team Asobi teases new VIP bot cameos in Astro Bot DLC.
Nicolas Doucet, game director of Astro Bot, shared further details about the DLC: that it would be short in length, and focus on speedruns.
Doucet added that there will be some new VIP bots to rescue, and shared that some characters initially left out of the game will be introduced in the upcoming DLC. He further revealed that the update will include challenging levels and the addition of leaderboards.
Doucet has revealed the upcoming Astro Bot DLC will be a free release. It will be available for free to everyone who has Astro Bot. He added the DLC content will focus on speedruns. These are the modes where players try to complete a level in the quickest time possible.
The mode will have leaderboards so players can check where they rank against others. However, it is unknown if there will be a global leaderboard or limited to your friends. Speedruns were quite popular among Astro’s Playroom players.
Unlike most games, Astro Bot’s credits scene is quite unique, known as the Credits Clash. It serves as a tribute to both Astro Bot and the team behind its creation. The credits unfold through a gameplay sequence where you travel over rescued bots and jump on memory cards that display the developers' names. As you move forward, each section combines the credits with interactive gameplay, making it a memorable experience.
This could result in the appearance of these characters in an Astro Bot DLC release, which has now been confirmed.
