The Sion Time Machine
This is the inspiring story of discovering the rich cultural history not just of Sion but the Valais as a whole.
The underlying idea of the Sion Time Machine is to be able to use digital technology to catalogue the documentary heritage while also allowing people to appropriate it through visualisation tools.
Valais´ uniqueness is that is situated in the heart of the Alps and it has always been a crossroads between the north and the South of Europe. What we see with Sion is the conviction that Europe has always developed through migration routes that are not new but which people have taken, through the centuries, with new means and which have always contributed to developing the territory, not so much in terms of borders but rather as a network.
