August 4, 2023 -- After an overnight stay at Blooming Point Beach, I visited the Greenwich section of Prince Edward Island National Park to check out its displays on the Mi'kmaq people and to hike to Greenwich Dunes. The hike was my favorite on the island, especially the fixed and floating boardwalks. With over sixty lighthouses on the island, it wasn't difficult for me to squeeze a visit to six within the day--St. Peters Harbour (#2 favorite), Shipwreck Point, East Point, Souris, Wood Islands and Point Prim (#1 favorite). I also got to see a large ferry arrive from Nova Scotia during my stop at Wood Islands.

The frugal traveler tip is to arrive on PEI by ferry and to leave via Confederation Bridge as you only pay for the outbound toll, and the bridge is much less expensive than the ferry crossing (for me it was $50.25 vs. $161.85). I didn't get to do this as storm damage on Nova Scotia had me visiting PEI first.

I wanted to honor the Mi'kmaq people with this video and found two great sound tracks to do so:
Juanita Muise sings the Mi’kmaq Friendship Song [   • Juanita Muise sings the Mi’kmaq Frien...  ]
and Honor Song of the Mi'kmaq [   • Honor Song of the Mi'kmaq (Sing-along)  ]
