An example essay is provided showing how these parts connect, and the purpose of the topic sentence detail sentences, and conclusion sentence are explained and then analyzed in body paragraph #1, #2, and #3 of an example essay.
One of the challenges learners face in essay writing is figuring out what to write in a body paragraph of an essay. This video explains that by the time you've reached the body paragraph, your topic has already been chosen, and your topic sentence just needs to be phrased--you already know what will go in it from writing your thesis statement! After that, it's a matter of supporting that topic sentence with details and examples.
