This tutorial explains how to simulate a Northern Lights effect in Apple Motion. It makes use of the following Apple Motion features:

Pen Tool
Airbrush - Jitter Property
Parameter Behaviour - Oscillate
Zoom Blur
Directional Blur

This Apple Motion Tutorial is for Motion Graphics Creators or Animators who have some experience with Apple Motion.
