Thief Pays Phone Bill Then Robs Cell Phone Store Immediately After
We've all heard stories of criminals doing foolish things during the commission of a crime, like handing the bank teller their ID before robbing the bank. But check this story out. In Florida, a man walks into a Boost Mobile store to pay his phone bill and attempt to upgrade his phone plan from an Android to an iPhone. He talks to the store clerk about doing so. While looking at the iPhones, the criminal thought it would be a clever idea to snatch and grab the phones and run back to his car. But what happened next was shocking.
When officers arrived, the victim explained that the robber came in what appeared to be a U-Haul truck. She went on to explain that she was confused that the man would rob the store right after paying his phone bill. Officers obtained his name, birthday, and a full description of the not-so-smart robber. They spotted the van and attempted to pull him over. At first, he hesitated but then decided to hit the gas and take officers on a high-speed chase.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody, and his case is currently pending. In his defense, he claimed he didn't have money for the iPhone, so after he paid his phone bill, he came back to rob the place. To make matters worse, he had just come home after serving 10 years in a Florida prison and had been free for only 12 months. Talk about rehabilitation!
