In this video, we’re going to talk about hormones and aging. Hormones are messages that travel through the blood and tell the body what to do.
As you age, you might end up with low levels of certain hormones including testosterone, estrogen, thyroid hormone, and growth hormone.
Oftentimes, people try hormone replacement therapy to replenish their low levels of hormones, but synthetic hormones carry major risks! Many people believe that bioidentical hormones are a safer alternative, but there are no studies to support this.
In order to properly address low hormone levels, it’s important to look at why your glands have stopped producing the hormone in the first place. Here are 5 reasons why you might have low levels of hormones in your body:
1. Counter hormones like insulin, estrogen, and cortisol nullify and block other hormones.
2. Insulin can increase androgens in women and decrease testosterone in men.
