One of the biggest advantages of 3d printing is that your printer can make parts on its own without you having to be there. But there’s a technique that requires a little bit of human intervention that can help level up your prints. Interrupting your print.
By just adding a little bit of GCode at the appropriate line, you can add additional hardware to your prints that you wouldn’t be able to do otherwise - like adding a metal weight into a cavity to give your print a little more heft. Or embedding a nut into your print so you can have a part with metal threads.
Or you can change your filament during this pause, so you can add a contrasting color to create small signs or other designs. For more tips like this, check out maker Update Each Week on the DigiKey Youtube channel.
