The Space Between Hopeless and Action - a story about learning how to take the first step and why empowering youth to take their first steps matters. Andrea Lo's hope is that young people who watch her talk will be inspired to take action and start their own project, company or campaign; that every adults starts mentoring and supporting at least one youth. She believes that anyone and everyone is capable of changing the world and living the life they want, it just takes getting over that first step.
Lo is the 26-year-old founder and CEO of Piggybackr.com an online platform that teaches youth how to raise money for their teams and causes while learning 21st century skills. Her mission is for Piggybackr to change the face of youth fundraising and inspire millions of young people to take action and make things happen for their communities. Andrea grew up in the Silicon Valley and currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
