In this video we teach you how to connect your C by GE smart light switch or C by GE smart dimmer to your Google Home Device, Google Assistant or Nest Home Hub so that you can control your smart light switch with voice commands.
With Google Home / Google Assistant Voice Commands you can turn on or off your smart lighting with your voice or if you have a dimmer light switch control the dimming levels.
The C by GE smart light switches are unique in that they don't require a neutral wire for installation, which makes them more likely to be compatible with existing home wiring than many other types of smart light switches. The C by GE smart light switches connect directly to your wifi network and don't require a smart home hub for operation.
These instructions to connect C by GE to Google work for all C by GE smart products including C by GE Smart Light Switches, C by GE Smart Plugs, C by GE Smart Dimmers and C by GE smart light bulbs.
To Connect C by GE to Google Home / To Connect C by GE To Nest Hub
1. You will need to have your Google Home app device setup and installed on the Google Home app. You will also need to have your C by GE smart light switch setup and installed on the C by GE app and connected to Wifi.
2. Open the Google Home app.
3. Click the "+" symbol in the upper left corner of the Google Home app.
4. Then click "set up a device"
5. Then choose "Works with Google"
6. Click the magnifying glass in the upper right corner and search for "C by GE"
7. Click on the C by GE logo/connection when it pops up.
8. Enter your C by GE username and password and click ok.
9. The C by GE smart light switch should now by connected to Google Home for voice control. You can close out of the screens you are using and try using a Google Home Voice command to control your smart light switch.
