What This Fisherman Did is Unheard Of
Professional BASS angler JT Thompkins was disqualified after he failed a truth verification examination. JT Thompkins is a professional bass tournament angler from Myrtle Beach South Carolina, and won Angler of the Year in 2023. Recently he hired his own polygraph examiner to test him again, independently to see what the results would be. In this video he discusses what took place and has commentary from the polygraph examiner that tested him.
BASS released this statement: Elite Series angler JT Thompkins has been disqualified from the Humminbird Bassmaster Elite Series at St. Lawrence River for failure to pass a truth verification examination. As a result of JT Thompkins disqualification, Thompkins will receive zero points toward Progressive Bassmaster Angler of the Year and Dakota Lithium Elite Series Rookie of the Year standings. The truth verification exam was administered during the event Friday, and Thompkins failed to pass exam sections that pertain to Rule C3 ii a and Rule C3 (xiv). Rule C3 ii a states anglers “cannot gather waypoints or specific fishing locations i.e. creek, river, area of the lake, etc. from any source that is not publicly available.”
