Hi everyone, welcome to another Lazy Money UK review.
In this video I'm going to demonstrate a mobile app called WeAre8, which pays you to watch adverts.
The basic idea of the app is to share advertising revenue with end users and charities, rather than have it go to corporations, as would usually be the case when you use social media platforms. Ultimately WeAre8 would like to make the world a better place by redirecting wealth from the advertising industry which is worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
It looks like the company's original plan was to make WeAre8 a fully-fledged social media platform that pays its users. However, this aspect of the app is overlooked in recent times. It's a shame, because I did like the idea of having social media that only allows positive content.
This app sends you notifications when there are new videos available to watch. Sometimes the notifications are sent by text or e-mail, but I find it is more reliable just to check the app itself. More videos tend to arrive every few days, so if you have no videos at the moment, try checking back later.
You typically get paid 20p to watch an advert, but the charity promotions understandably pay less. After each video there is a very quick microsurvey involving 1 to 3 questions. Extra money is also donated to charity each time you watch an advert, so by using the app you'll be helping to raise money for good causes.
It takes 30 days to be credited for each advert you view. Fortunately, the minimum amount you need to withdraw your cash to PayPal is just £1. Check out my payment proof which is shown in the video.
Overall I enjoy using this app. I hope they will be able to expand their business and provide more adverts for users to watch.
