Xavier Radix - Distant Traveler
Hey everyone!
Got a new song here. I actually wrote this track while on a long train trip visiting family and made the demo for this just on my laptop. Later I fleshed it out to the final result at home, of course. For the video I filmed some footage in some wonderful parts of my area. Actually my mum went along to film some of the footage as well, so that was fun as always.
This song is kind of a tribute to Thomas Dobly, since this is really inspired by his song 'Dissidents' from the classic album, 'The Flat Earth'. I've been listening to all of Dobly's albums and really got inspired to make a track in his style.
I used a lot of sampled instruments on this track. I recently competely sampled my Yamaha DX21, so that's featured heavily on this track. The drums I used are samples from the highly underrated Roland TR-626. And of course the classic slap bass I sampled from my GeneralMusic (GEM) WS2 workstation keyboard. Besides that I used a little bit of other synth plugins in the background, along with using some one-hit samples from the CMI Fairlight.
