Joining a Kingdom gives you access to a lot of unique and powerful features for growing the power of your character. Buffs, feasts, an auction house, PvE and PvP events, weekly quests...There really is a lot to do if you want to.
The power spikes from joining a kingdom are immediate and you should join your kingdom members to grind monsters in the field and fight bosses and conquer dungeons.
