DAY 1 POST-OP 360 HD-LIPO | LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE | Dr. Jason Emer
For today’s case, our Licensed Massage Therapist Michael is going to be performing a Lymphatic Massage to our post-360 HD Lipo surgery patient to drain the fluid and help speed up his healing process.
Starting out, we are doing lymphatic drainage to the backside to make sure any blood building up in the lymph during surgery is coming out. Our male patient had HD-Lipo to his arms, flanks, and torso, as well as a thigh lift, and a BBL as the first past of his surgery and the bruising in his arms and body will be going away in a couple of days with the massaging to speed up healing. In the second part of his surgery done in a couple of weeks, he will have done a circumferential body lift with a fat transfer to his chest.
Lymphatic drainage massages are beneficial because they expedite the healing process after an invasive HD-Lipo procedure. The masseuse makes sure any fluid built up during the surgery comes out of the body as quickly as possible. That's why we recommend as many sessions to be done to increase the blood flow, make sure the body is getting new blood in there to help healing, and optimize the results.
Dr. Jason Emer suggests very intensive post-op care to all of his patients to increase results and speed up the healing process. The post-op protocol includes Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, IV therapy/hydration, radiofrequency, and Venus Legacy. Lymphatic massage paired up with the above will assist with healing and pain levels of the procedure. The patient will leave with garments to compress the procedure area as well as scar creams (which you can find at www.emeragecosmetics.com) to reduce scarring from the procedure. Overall, these procedures will have a quicker healing time and reduce swelling.
