Demosaicing (a.k.a. debayering) is the process of combining the RGB channels of a color camera to make a full color image. Perhaps the best demosaicing algorithms for astrophotography are RCD and VNG, but they each have distinct strengths and weaknesses. But they can be combined to maximize resolution and dynamic range in a color image.
