Tell me, what issues will you consider while voting in this election?
Here’s what I’ll keep in mind:
• Over the past 10 years, what real changes have happened at the ground level?
• Are they giving the same false promises again and again?
• As a taxpayer, when will I get pothole-free roads? If I’m paying road tax and still getting such poor roads, what’s the point?
• When will the traffic issues in Hinjewadi, Wakad, Ravet, and Punawale be resolved? Even after so many years, the traffic problems remain the same. The 8-10 km distance from Wakad to Hinjewadi should take 15-20 minutes, but I end up stuck in traffic for hours.
• How will they control the tanker mafia? Even after paying PCMC property tax, we need additional water tankers for our society, and I pay for these in my monthly maintenance. Isn’t this unfair to taxpayers like me? If we’re paying taxes, why don’t we get the necessary facilities?
• What policies have been implemented for women’s safety? After incidents like those in Badlapur, what strict laws have been enforced to create fear in the minds of criminals?
• What plans are there for building playgrounds and play areas for children over the next five years?
• Many of us don’t know the difference between the work of a municipal corporation member and a legislative assembly member, i.e., an MLA – this lack of awareness is often exploited. Question the MLAs, question the candidates. If you want change, vote.
• Vote for a candidate who is educated, understands your issues, and can work toward solving them.
So, this time, vote thoughtfully. If you want to spend the next 5 years peacefully, keep the last 10 years in mind when you vote.
