This is Low Fidelity brown noise.
The sample was created as 16 bit PCM with only a 8000hz sample rate. This makes it sound much more like something I would have heard in-between the old AM radio stations I would listen to as a child. Deep frequencies are naturally accentuated a bit and there is a nice layer of crunchyness up at the top end that warbles around in a way that really pleases me.
This sound is great for getting sleep, focusing at work, or creating a relaxing mood during the day.
