★ 4K 🇫🇷 Dijon - Paris-Bercy cab ride in a BB7200 [06.2023] Führerstandsmitfahrt
After having traveled between Marseille and Lyon on the mythical imperial artery, we are now looking at the Dijon - Paris section aboard a morning TER pulled by a BB7200R locomotive with Corail cars.
Commissioned in 1847, it was operated by the PLM company. This 863km line is the main artery of the French railway network. In a future video, we'll explore the missing section between Lyon & Dijon.
It is electrified at 1500V D.C. over its entire length, and is presently almost entirely doubled by the high-speed line that we have already presented in another video • ★ 4K 🇫🇷 Nice-Ville - Paris-Gare-de-L...
From Dijon, we will successively go up the ramp of Blaisy-Bas, the valleys of Brenne, Armançon and Yonne to take us to Melun where we will cross the river Seine, in order to go straight to Paris. Many 4-track sections are still operational, proving the volume of traffic that once passed along this important axis. Today, the nights are more agitated than the days, where freight traffic is still important. In addition, we will take the route via Héricy, and arrive at Bercy station in Paris, a more than exceptional fact!
