About the Director:
Daniel Butler is an Irish-speaking filmmaker who has won awards for his filmmaking in both Irish and English. These include the LUMI award at the Belfast Film Festival for the RTÉ funded Leave The Road Behind You and 'Best New Director' at the Kinsale Shark Awards for his music videos for Irish-language rappers KNEECAP. Last year, he won Comórtas Físín with his supernatural drama Bean Feasa and his vampire comedy Afterlife was screened at top international festivals including Screamfest and garnered several awards and nominations. He was selected as a Screen Ireland 'Screen Mentee 2021-22' to support him in his development of Irish-language drama and was shortlisted for this year's LIM - Development Programme with his feature Leannán Sidhe, inspired by Donegal folktales.
