My Best Practices for Importing Data Into Excel
Pay attention to the "format" of the data that you import into each field in an Excel Workbook. I created this video lesson after helping a viewer find out why his Pivot Table results were not producing the expected results.
The problem turned out to be that the field containing his Invoice Numbers was improperly formatted. This field should have been imported as a "Text" values field. The records contained a mixture of numeric and text value entries. Yet another example of GIG (Garbage In delivers Garbage Out!)
