It is always a challenging task to run Cutting-edge technologies due to resource constraints. One of these tasks is accessing high-end technologies such as Kubernetes. Kubernetes cluster deployment on the edge is never simple. MicroK8s and K3s can be a significant help in this situation if you're just starting to explore the realm of edge computing and are interested in using containers there. In this talk, we will discuss how K3s and MicroK8s are intended to be compact, with a minimal memory and CPU footprint. As edge devices frequently have low resources, K3s and MicroK8s make them the perfect option for operating Kubernetes clusters on them as it installed in a matter of minutes using a single binary of 100 MB and 192 MB respectively. This session covers some of the best approaches for managing, deploying, and enhancing performance with MicroK8s and K3s. When it comes to the Kubernetes distribution that makes it easy to deploy containerized applications at the edge, MicroK8s and K3s are the ones that provide accessibility, scalability, and reliability to the ecosystem. It can run on several devices, which makes it easy to distribute and use. Anyone, from a student to an open-source developer to a large organization, may utilize it at their leisure. Edge computing with MicroK8s and K3s provides an effective solution in terms of memory savings as well as low latency. Both of these distributions provide users with a lightweight approach to complex terminologies such as automatic high-availability implementation, production-ready environments, GPU acceleration, efficient storage options, and strong support systems. With built-in security features, K3s and MicroK8s offer a safe, isolated environment for operating applications.
