Orson Smith Park to Draper Suspension Bridge Loop is a scenic hike located in Draper, Utah. This trail is a 2.3-mile loop that is generally considered easy and takes an average of 1 hour and 7 minutes to complete. This area is very popular for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are from February through November. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

The easiest hike to the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge in Draper is from Orson Smith Park. The path is well maintained, and there are frequent bicycles on the upper trail. A short hike past the suspension bridge is the old pine bridge, which is worth the bit extra to see.

This double loop hike will take you on to a scenic 185-foot-long suspension bridge in beautiful Bear Canyon. You will also get to enjoy a flowing stream and some small cascading falls along the way. This trail is especially beautiful in the spring. The rolling hills are vibrant and green, and the water in the stream is flowing like crazy! There is also a waterfall here. You’ll have to make your hike a double loop (by taking Bear Creek Loop) to see it. You will cross a quaint iron bridge on your visit to this charming little waterfall on this less trafficked offshoot of a popular hiking trail.

The trail has a total of 580 ft elevation gain. It took about 1 ½ hours to complete this hike. Parking can be found at Orson Park in the City of Draper. The trailhead is located near the bathrooms.

Your hike will start off with some gradual switchbacks. Once the trail splits, we recommend taking the trail to the left. Not only is this the more gradual route up, but it will also provide you with some great glimpses of the suspension bridge along the way. Follow the trail until you cross the bridge. After the suspension bridge, you will see a trail off to your left marking access to the Bear Canyon Trail with a no dogs allowed sign posted. Take this small loop across another iron bridge and past the best part of all – the waterfall. You will reconnect to the main trail and cross the suspension bridge once more. This time, continue on until you connect back to the switchbacks where you started your hike. Enjoy your hike!
