Today, we will talk about the Juris Doctor (JD) degree, a three-year professional degree required for practicing law in the United States and some other countries. A J.D. degree confers recognition that the holder has a professional degree in law. Law school applicants must already have a bachelor's degree and usually take three years to complete the J.D. degree, after which they must pass the bar exam to practice law. Some schools now offer a two-year J.D. degree option.
