Raneem, a Palestinian living in Jerusalem, shares her personal experiences as a Palestinian carrying an Israeli passport, and how this shapes her understanding of identity and belonging. She explores the complexities of identity, and how they can be shaped by factors such as nationality, religion, culture, and language. She argues that we must look beyond official documents and passports to understand who we are as human beings. We must embrace the complexity of our identities, and recognize that our experiences, relationships, and personal values are what truly define us. Only then can we create a world that values diversity and inclusivity, and embraces the richness of our shared humanity. Raneem is a second-year at UWC Atlantic. She is very proud of her nationality as a Palestinian and her rich family history.
