Rome Transformed | The Transformation of the Eastern Caelian from the first to eighth centuries CE
Lecture by Ian Haynes and the Rome Transformed Project Team
Complementing the wider conference programme of the Rome Transformed ‘Transformation’ Conference, this lecture aims to deliver a summation of some of the key lessons learnt by members of the Project Team as they enter their fifth and final year of this ERC-funded research programme. The project launched with plans to deliver an innovative methodology for large-area urban research. This lecture will review the successes and challenges encountered in the delivery of the Project’s aims and objectives, while simultaneously introducing some of the progress made in its research into key areas of transformation in Roman life from the first to eighth centuries CE. It will conclude by proposing directions for future research.
