White balance is something that doesn't get talked about as much as it should do - especially since it means the difference of life or death for your colours when you come to grading.
Most people when they start out are told to stick to AWB (Auto White Balance), and while that's okay for some situations, it can be a nightmare for others.
There is something called AWB lock that essentially stops your WB from changing during your shot, but if you forget to lock it (like I have a few times), then chances are your colours will be shifting all over the shop.
The Panasonic S5 (like most other cameras on the market) has a bunch of White Balance presets that are actually really useful when you get started setting your Custom WB in camera. In fact, I still use the sunny and cloudy presets all the time as they're really good and very accurate in my testing.
