Henry2: Request a Consultation

Explains how to open a help ticket. Demonstrates how to check a Google calendar for availability and how to send a calendar invite for a Google Meet or Zoom consultation.

Asking for help
Before asking a question, check to see if you took the training and looked at the documentation. Also, be sure to check the cluster status. If you are still having problems, click contact us. You will need to open a help ticket by emailing us here at [email protected]

Put your question and include the following information located in the ‘Provide sufficient info' list.

Request a consultation
To request a consultation, Open a help ticket, explain what you would like to discuss, and give a range of dates and times that you would be available for a meeting.

Scheduling a meeting
If a staff member invites you to schedule a consultation, click Google Calendar, create meeting. Put in a descriptive title and summary of the proposed agenda, including error message and links to supporting documents. Put the staff members’ email address in Guests, and click Find Time.
When choosing a time, please note the following calendar etiquette.
Grayed out areas are outside of normal working hours
It is customary to avoid lunch hours of noon to 1pm.
If you have conflicts that make it difficult to find a ‘blank space’, email the person you will meet with, rather than simply putting an appointment in a reserved space.
If you will use Google Meet, click the button to add that. After choosing the time, click send, and click yes send an email to the person.

Scheduling a Zoom meeting
To schedule a Zoom meeting, open the Zoom app under your NC State account. Set up the meeting invite through Zoom, and send it. Google Calendar will open with all of the Zoom information. Add a detailed description. Add the staff member as a guest and find a time, as explained earlier in the video.
