Alright, let's get into it. BMW is refreshing its legendary M3 sedan for the 2025 model year, and there are some significant changes to discuss.
First off, let's talk performance. The all-wheel-drive M3 Competition xDrive model is getting a power boost. BMW has reconfigured the engine management system, upping the horsepower by 20 for a total of 523 hp. Despite this increase, the torque remains at 479 pound-feet, which means the 0-60 mph time stays consistent at a blistering 3.4 seconds, just like the 2024 model.
Moving down the line, we have the rear-drive M3 and M3 Competition. These models stick with the S58 twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine, producing 473 hp and 503 hp, respectively. All three variants have a top speed of 155 mph, which can be bumped up to 180 mph with the optional M Driver’s Package.
On the exterior, the 2025 M3 receives sleek new LED headlights and an outlined M3 badge on the trunk lid. The headlights combine low and high beams into a single module, featuring two arrow-shaped LED units for daytime running lights and turn signals. Additionally, new forged M alloy 825M wheels are available in a bright silver finish, adding to the car's striking appearance.
Inside, BMW has made some stylish and functional upgrades. The M3 now sports a redesigned, three-spoke flat-bottom M leather steering wheel, offered in Alcantara. It features revised spokes and a red 12-o'clock center marker for that extra sporty touch. The 2025 M3 also includes BMW’s latest infotainment software, version 8.5, which streamlines the controls for the automatic climate system.
