Often parents of children aged 1.5 to 2 years are concerned about symptoms similar to autism. This causes fear for the child.
In this video we understand that in most cases this is a delay in psycho-speech development. But it does not go away on its own, since the lack of cognitive interest and speech subsequently leads to learning disorders.
Symptoms of SPD are similar to autism (ASD): misunderstanding of speech, lack of interest in toys, others, games, and peers. Hence, it does not respond to the name, does not stare when you call, does not bring it when you ask, the simple stereotypical nature of the game: spins, knocks, runs in a circle, lines up.
By nature, children are either easily excitable, throw hysterics, that is, they cannot control emotions, or they are calm, slow, do not meet age requirements, do not eat on their own, do not ask to go to the potty, and have no dressing skills.
What to do?
The first thing to do is contact a neurologist; delayed psycho-speech development is characterized by absence (speech delay) as early as 1 year, hypoxia factors during pregnancy, childbirth, a small amount of time spent with a parent, or stress: illness, vaccination, going to the garden in the period from 1 years to 2 years.
The risk factor is being near the TV for more than 1.5-2 hours over the past 3 months.
The specialist will conduct a diagnosis, and most importantly, prescribe treatment, and after 3 months you will see the appearance of attention, auditory concentration, and a little later, from 6-9 months, active speech. Prognosis or when will speech appear? the neurologist will say, the assessment is carried out according to the degree of speech and developmental delay.
