Italian producer Tree60 has been making electronic music since 2000. His latest album, “Simmetree”, though ultimately built from a trip-hop foundation, is wonderfully decorated with elements from all over the world, and the spectrum of downtempo music. Organic, analog instruments weave in and out of electronic chops, creating natural, earthy textures and soundscapes.
Each and every one of Tree60’s tracks on “Simmetree” has it’s own unique palette, personality and natural element. The softly-spoken “Abacaxi” for example, has a breathtakingly rhythmic airiness to it. A track that is exciting in it’s chaotic busyness, and yet delicate to the touch. In contrast, a track such as “Universe likes Blues”, with it’s soul-searing mallets and bass line, has a deep, dark and wet heaviness to it, like the bottom of the ocean. Each track stands alone with pride, and yet for the same reason, listening to the album in full is quite simply a must. Clearly, a huge amount of creativity of all colours has been poured into each and every song, resulting in an multi-dimensional album that will have you coming back to it time and time again.
