AIO VS Custom Water Loop - Honest Comparison + Give-away
For a good while I have wanted to compare one of the high-end All-in-One liquid cooling options against a high performance custom water cooling loop. All-in-one liquid coolers have developed by quite a bit over the last decade or so. Now they are more affordable and we have a larger variety of options on the market, ranging from 120mm radiator models up to 360mm units. As CPU core counts have gone up the heat loads that need to be cooled have also increased, and therefore I would get a 360mm AIO for modern systems like Z690 or similar platform with a Core i7 or i9 CPU. You can actually get a pretty nice overclock even with a simple AIO like this one and on the video I investigate what is the real gain of a very expensive custom loop against an AIO like the Liquid Freezer II 360 so stay tuned until the end. The Liquid Freezer II 360 RGB from Arctic does a very nice job in my opinion for an AIO unit so definitely worthy to think about if you are a building a modern Z690/X570 system.
With larger enthusiast sockets like the X299, LGA3647 or the AMD Threadripper I would recommend a custom water cooling loop as on those you can actually gain a lot from such. Used parts can be used to decrease the overall cost, and it all comes down to what you want to do with your system and how far are you willing to go.
