Here is how you (mostly) get back the smartcasting behaviour of Warcraft III:
Go to your steam folder (for me that's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam), then navigate to steamapps - common - dota 2 beta - game - dota - cfg. Inside that folder, create a .cfg file named "autoexec.cfg" and write the following line into that file: "dota_player_smart_multiunit_cast 1;"
If you are having trouble, make sure it is actually a .cfg file and not just a .txt file. You may have to turn on the option to show file extensions in windows. If you don't know how, this may help: https://www.howtogeek.com/205086/begi...
