The recent discovery of Bitcoin’s Whitepaper in every copy of macOS has sparked speculation.
Of course, Nakomoto is the pseudonym for the mysterious developer — or developers — of Bitcoin, who published “A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” in 2008, and get this: he disappeared from the internet around the time Jobs passed away.
Now, Jobs wasn’t an expert programmer … as far as we know, and he more than had his hands full developing the iPhone around the time Bitcoin debuted, so there’s reason to be skeptical. And of course, it’s totally possible someone at Apple who loves Bitcoin just slipped the Whitepaper in as an Easter Egg.
But it sure raises some questions, and perhaps will bolster Jobs’s already myth-like stature.
