Saturn’s magnetic field strength is around one-twentieth of Jupiter’s. The planet has a prominent ring system, which is composed mainly of ice particles, with a smaller amount of rocky debris and dust. At least 146 moons are known to orbit the planet.
On the other hand, Super Saturn or J1407b, is an exoplanet that has been referred to as a “Saturn on steroids” due to its massive system of circumplanetary rings with a radius of approximately 90 million km (0.6 AU). The ring system of J1407b is much larger and heavier than the ring system of Saturn. The ring system consists of over 30 rings, each of them tens of millions of kilometers in diameter. Furthermore, gaps in the rings indicate that satellites (“exomoons”) may have formed. The diameter of the ring system is nearly 120 million kilometers, more than two hundred times as large as the rings of Saturn. The companion is likely to be a giant planet – not yet seen – with a gigantic ring system responsible for the repeated dimming of J1407’s light.
