Huge thanks to Toyota for loaning me this 2023 4Runner 40th anniversary edition for a week! So what’s unique about it? Well it’s based on the SR5 Premium and adds heritage decals, a unique facia, bronze badges and 17-inch wheels, 40th anniversary logos, and just 4,040 units are being made. Otherwise, it’s just a 4Runner SR5 Premium. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet: Under the hood is a tried and true 4.0L V6 paired to a 5-Speed Automatic gearbox making 270HP and 278 lb-ft of torque. MPG comes in at 17 city / 20 highway / 18 combined while it can tow 5,000lbs and 0-60 in around 7.7sec. 🏁

Also new for 2023 is a Standard Blind Spot Monitor + Rear Cross Traffic Alert while this 40th edition can only come in White, Midnight Black Metallic and Barcelona Red Metallic.
But the 4Runner, currently in its 5th gen, has been around Ince 2009…. And sure its top sales year was 2021, it’s time for a ground up update. (Which is coming within a year) I will admit the high driving position, roll down rear window, & retro looks are all sweet. But the ancient drivetrain, chassis, tech, and interior makes it’s $47k price tough if you want modern. If you are a die hard Toyota fan, love the retro looks, and want something simple, reliable, and low maintenance, this classic 4Runner still is a hot option and seller.
