In this video project schedule example is used to explain the difference between Elapsed Time, Duration, and Effort (or Work).
Scheduling formula: Work (or Effort) = Duration x Resource Units
Elapsed time = calendar days (incl. weekends and public holidays)
Duration = amount of time required to complete a task (hours, days, weeks)
Units = number of resources assigned to a task (people, equipment, material)
Effort (or Work) = amount of effort required to complete a task (hours, days)
