Easy & Fun Kids DIY: How to make Color Rainbow Sand Art, Beach bottle w/ Seashells, mason jar
This video is a DIY project ( Easy Rainbow Color Sand Art, Beach Theme Jars with Seashells ) that the kids and I made. In it, we show how we used salt and food coloring to make fake sand, then placed it by layers into mason jars, then placed seashells on top, for a beachy feel. This is not a professional style tutorial, as the kids were in it (and toddlers never cooperate. haha)
At first, I attempted to make the fake sand using flour and oil (i had seen a recipe like this before), but I couldn't figure it out, and the flour basically just turned into a big clump & looked pretty gnarly. (lol)
Instructions are in the video for making it, but we winged it. I added approximately 2 cups of salt and 5-6 drops of food coloring, then zipped our quart size ziploc bags and shoke it until it was mixed. This project was a lot of fun for both the kids and me!
