Have you ever launched an Amazon Web Services AWS EC2 instance but weren't sure how to log in using SSH? If you are just starting out, it could seem complicated, but it really isn't. Let's look at the straightforward step below for connecting to an EC2 instance using Konsole's SSH plugin when you're a Linux user.

It will also work if you do this directly on the terminal without first creating a profile. You only need to use the command:

ssh -i path-to-your-pem-file.pem username@ip-address

Requirements
- Amazon's SSH Key (.pem file). When you start the instance, Amazon gives you this SSH key.
- Your AWS EC2 Instance IP address.
- Username. Your newly launched Linux distribution will use the default username for you. Typically, the usernames for the most widely used distributions are as follows:

-Ubuntu: ubuntu
-Amazon Linux: ec2-user
-Centos: root
-Kali: kali
-Debian: admin
