WordPress Admin Email - Where To Find & How To Change It | WP Learning Lab
In this tutorial you're going to discover how to enter or change the WordPress Admin Email address.
This email address is very important because plugins, themes and the WordPress core send important notification emails to this email address.
For example, the WordFence security plugin will email when someone is locked out of signing into your website. The WP Updates plugin will email you when there is an update available.
If these emails are going to the wrong email address, then you won't know what's happening on your website.
If your website was created by someone else, they often have their email address as the admin email with the intention of changing it once they hand the site over to you. But sometimes this piece is forgotten and the wrong email address remains as the admin email.
So let's double check the admin email settings. First, log into your WordPress admin dashboard. Hover over Settings in the left hand side menu and click on General.
About half way down the page that loads you will see the WordPress Admin Email field. Make sure that field contains an email address that is valid and is regularly checked by someone who will take care of whatever comes up. Double check the email address for spelling errors.
