Tableau Tutorial 32: How to Use LOD and Lookup to Create Global Filters While Ignoring Other Filters
This video is going to show how to use Level of Detail (LOD) and Lookup function to create global filters while ignoring other filters in the view. This workbook shows Profit for each Sub-Category and average Profit for all Sub-Category. The challenge here is that if you filter by Sub-Category, the average line will also be changed. As a result, we need to create a calculated field to ignore the Sub-Category filter, while the line can still be filtered by other dimensions.
