Write Around Portland – Raise Your Pen 2022
Please join us for Write Around Portland's annual celebration of writing, respect, and community! Tonight's program starts at 7 PM and features community poetry readings, a welcome to Write Around's new Executive Director, Chris McDonald, and a special appeal to support Write Around's unique literary programs. Write Around Portland changes lives through the power of writing. Since 1999, we've held hundreds of free creative writing workshops for people often excluded from the arts, including those in hospitals, schools, prisons, shelters, senior centers, low-income housing, and treatment facilities. We've organized more than 250 community readings for participants to share their writing with the public and published nearly 60 anthologies of their work, improving mental health and amplifying voices that often go unheard.
