03. Bitter
Bitter is a song about being messed around and not being able to let go when you know you should. It's of my fav lyrics. Including 'Get a grip, I can't let go'.
When producing the track I wanted to go for that Spaghetti Western sort of sound. Ennio Morricone thing. It felt apt for the meaning and feeling of the song. So a lot of the guitar tones and sounds are sounds from that style of music inluding the baritone Guitar doing the opening two note riff. Also the middle 8 in this song is probably my favourite middle 8. A lot of the time Middle 8's can be plonked in there but this one really feels good to me the way it moves around and evolves. Oh yeah and its the only song I've got on the mixtape thats in 6/8 time signature which means its got that chugging rolling feeling throughout.
I'm very proud of this song.
