In a country where being blind means an uncertain future, Dr. Ruit has given new hope to the visually impaired from the small landlocked country in South Asia, and even beyond. By pioneering a simple cataract microsurgery technique that is highly successful, Dr. Ruit has been able to restore the vision of countless individuals. Not only is his method being taught in medical schools in the United States, but he is also training doctors from around the world.
