In honor of Barney The Dinosaur's 35th Anniversary, here's a compilation video showcasing the original trilogy of Barney & The Backyard Gang that started it all, in chronological order.
A Day At The Beach With Barney: (00:00)
Plot:
Michael and Amy's Dad had planned a special beach trip for his family, but then while at work, he calls their Mom telling her that he has to work on the day they planned to go to the beach and that they decided to postpone the beach trip to the next weekend. Michael and Amy's friends Jason, Adam, Luci and Tina feel sorry for them. No one knows what to do until a six-foot tall purple dinosaur named Barney comes to life. Not knowing Barney, the rest of The Backyard Gang are surprised at the six-foot purple dinosaur appearing before them. Nervously, Tina comes and she gives Barney a hug after he introduces himself in song. With the power of imagination, Barney transports the kids to the beach on a flying swimming pool. From searching for shells to exploring a pirate ship, Barney and the Backyard Gang have fun exploring all that the beach has to offer. They even go under the sea, meeting Barney's friend, Molly The Mermaid, before returning home safely. When the rest of The Backyard Gang go home and Barney returns to his doll form, Michael and Amy go inside their house at the same time Dad returned home, he and mom tell them that Dad asked his job if he can finish his work at home so that he can have his promised beach trip with his family and his job agreed. With their beach trip back as scheduled, Amy left her pail in the kitchen filled with sand from her beach trip with Barney with Mom and Dad thinking something suspicious is going on with Dad asking her what she, Michael and Amy do when Dad isn't home.

Plot:
Michael and Amy want to surprise their dad for his birthday, by putting on a backyard birthday show. With The Backyard Gang in doubt, there's no way the show can be produced quickly (or, so they think). Fortunately, their purple friend, Barney The Dinosaur comes to life, and encourages the kids to use their imaginations to help make the backyard show a reality. Along the way, they sing songs and recite rhymes that are later sung in the birthday show. The show ends up to be a success with Dad doing "The Hokey Pokey".

Plot:
The Backyard Gang are bored on a Saturday with nothing to do. That is, until they use their imaginations to bring Barney to life. When they tell Barney their problem, he acts like a genie and gives them three wishes to go anywhere they would want to go. Using their imaginations, Barney and the kids go to places like a fun park, the Moon in outer space, and even a fun-filled animal farm. But when Barney leaves, the kids learn from Mom that "friends are forever, whenever they're make-believe".
