Preparing for Harvest 🍂 Welcoming Autumn into my cottage 🍁 Cozy Fall Home Decorating 🍂 🍁 Homestead
September and Fall have officially arrived at our cottage 🍂 I am so excited to celebrate this change of the season in our new home! I have been decorating our home little by little as I work on illustrating children's books, portraits commissions, and taking care of our baby. We are so excited for so many blessings and changes in our lives as of late.
We visited a pumpkin store, called the Fruit Stand close to our home to look at the pumpkins. I couldn't decide what I wanted, and the weather is so hot - I will need to go back to select the perfect pumpkins for our autumnal decorating.
My grandmother recently passed away - and some of her belongings have found a new home in our dwelling. The drawing of the fall leaves is on our fireplace mantel. I remember seeing this drawing at my grandmother's home as a little girl in the dining room. I always loved looking at this drawing. My husband loved it too so we put it up - and of course baby approves!
In decorating a little more for fall - I have been tinkering away at this folk art bunny shelf. I do not have a lot of time to work on it these days, but I did want to show you the progress so far. Perhaps in a future video, I can show you in full detail how the piece will look. I would love to put it in our kitchen as a way to store my vintage tea kettle and adorable knick-knacks.
I also made a few more wreaths to decorate our home for fall - but I might give them away as gifts for the Christmas season. Wreaths are a personalized handmade gift that make any home look more cozy in a cottage style.
