Safari in Serengeti National Park, Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro crater | TANZANIA
The famous Serengeti National Park is in Tanzania. But how to book a safari trip in the Serengeti National Park? We traveled to Tanzania because we wanted to go on Safari. We visited three different National Parks, the Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro National Park. We booked a four days/ three nights Safari with Simba Adventures: https://simbaadventures.com/
In total, we paid around 1000 USD for the Safari trip (but you need extra money to tip the guides and cooks). The trip was a low-budget safari, as we slept one night in a normal bed and two nights in a tent. Our guide was Sadi and our chef was Mudi and they were amazing! We had a great trip and loved the tour! So this was our itinerary:
1 Day: we visited the Tarangire National Park (one night outside the parks)
2 Day: we visited the Serengeti National Park (one night in the Serengeti National Park)
3: Day: a second day game ride in the Serengeti National Park (one night on top of the Ngorongoro crater)
4 Day: game ride in the Ngorongoro crater
How to travel to Tanzania?
We booked our flight to the Kilimanjaro Airport because we stayed in Arusha before going on the safari. Arusha is the starting point for most safaris and 1 hour away from the airport. We paid 50 USD for the driver who picked us up at the airport and drove us to the hotel. We stayed in The Charity Hotel (only ok): https://thecharityhotel.com/
Tips for the safari:
Pack warm clothes (it is getting cold during the evenings and nights)
Pack a sleeping back (you will need it)
You need Malaria pills
If you travel to Tanzania mainland first before going to Zanzibar, you may need a yellow fever vaccination
Get some cash in your home country to pay for the safari (take at least 1000 USD cash)
4 days/ 3 nights was a good amount of days to see a lot of different animals
We do not recommend staying too long in Arusha, as this is not really a city for tourists. It is hard to get around alone, and it was not easy to even by some water or food. Even though there are many activities you can do like visiting the hot pools, waterfalls or climb the Kilimanjaro, if you don't want to do it, there is not much to do in Arusha.
We had a wonderful time on our safari, we loved the game rides, we saw so many animals (lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, hippos, monkeys and many more) and highly recommend going on a safari trip in Tanzania.
