This is a replay of a live workshop for beginners in modular synth / sound design, looking at 3 different ways of using simple synthesis building blocks to create rich, complex sounds. I go over basic audio rate frequency modulation to create interesting timbres and bell-like sounds; cross modulation as a means of creating chaotic and surprising textures (also great for experimental percussion!); and using feedback as a dynamic and unpredictable modulation source for your patches.
Since this is a recording of a live class, the video & audio quality is lower than usual, but I think the ideas / concepts are still worth sharing.
If you have questions about any of the techniques shared, drop a comment below and I'd be happy to help!
